Espreez is a culture-driven social platform built exclusively for Africans — a digital home where people can connect, create, and grow.
It blends African identity with modern technology, giving creators, storytellers, and entrepreneurs the tools to express themselves, earn, and own their impact.Unlike traditional platforms that treat Africa as an afterthought, Espreez places our stories, art, languages, and communities at the center.Espreez isn’t just an app.
It’s a movement to restore cultural pride, visibility, and opportunity across the African continent.

01 — Wireframing & UI Design

The design journey for Espreez began with a deep exploration of connection and identity. Every wireframe was crafted to capture the rhythm of African expression — vibrant, bold, and human. From early sketches to interactive layouts, our focus was on balance — blending cultural authenticity with modern digital experience. Once the structure felt alive and intuitive, the design phase brought in Espreez’s essence — energy, pride, and unity — through expressive typography, warm gradients, and rich, earthy tones that echo the soul of Africa in a modern digital form.

‍The design journey for Quantora began with a deep exploration of structure and clarity. Every wireframe was built to translate complex information into simple, human-centered flow. From early sketches to interactive layouts, our focus was on creating balance — blending research depth with visual intelligence. Once the structure felt intuitive, the actual design phase introduced Quantora’s brand essence — precision, depth, and illumination — through refined typography, spatial rhythm, and a sophisticated purple-toned interface that reflects clarity through darkness.

Espreez — UX Process

Discover
Researched how Africans create, connect, and share culture online. Identified key pain points: low visibility, scattered cultural content, weak local discovery, and lack of platforms centered on African identity.

Define
‍Set clear goals: build a culture-driven social platform, enhance discovery with geospatial features, support creators with smart data insights, and create a space where African stories and communities thrive.

Ideate
‍Explored solutions like geo-culture maps, AI-powered recommendations, cultural communities, and creator dashboards. Selected the strongest ideas to shape the core experience.

Design
Created user flows and Figma prototypes with a clean, modern African visual language. Designed culture-centric screens, discovery features, and simple interactions.

Test
Shared prototypes with potential users. Gathered feedback on clarity, usability, and cultural relevance. Refined features to improve navigation and strengthen the discovery experience.

Findings

User research and competitor analysis revealed the following key insights:

Users struggle to express themselves authentically on existing social platforms due to algorithm pressure, trend chasing, and engagement metrics that prioritize popularity over creativity.

Discovering relevant content and creators is often inefficient, with feeds optimized for virality rather than personal taste, cultural relevance, or emotional connection.

Creators find it difficult to maintain consistency and motivation when visibility is unpredictable and success is tied to follower count rather than quality of expression.

Social interactions frequently feel performative rather than meaningful, limiting genuine connection and community building especially for emerging and underrepresented voices.

Managing creative output across video, sound, and short-form content can feel fragmented, with few tools designed to support flow, experimentation, and creative continuity.

Users increasingly expect intelligent systems such as AI-driven discovery, contextual recommendations, and creator-friendly tools to reduce friction, surface relevant content, and support expressive freedom without overwhelming them.

Competitive Analysis

In this competitive analysis, I examined and compared leading social video and music-based platforms to understand how they support content creation, discovery, and user engagement. The research focused on analyzing products such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts evaluating their approaches to algorithms, creator visibility, interaction patterns, and AI-driven recommendations. This analysis helped identify gaps where Espreez could differentiate by prioritizing authentic expression, culturally relevant discovery, and more human-centered engagement over purely metric-driven experiences.

The user becomes aware of Espreez through creator content, social recommendations, or cultural conversations around music and expression. Upon onboarding, the app introduces a personalized experience that prioritizes vibe, interests, and creative intent rather than follower count.

The user selects preferred sounds, moods, and content styles. AI uses these signals to curate an initial feed focused on relevance and emotional resonance, helping users feel seen from the first session.

‍Content Creation
The user records or uploads short videos, sounds, or expressive clips. Espreez provides lightweight creative tools that support spontaneity—minimizing friction so users can focus on expression rather than performance.

‍Publishing & Flow
Instead of pushing content into rigid trends, Espreez allows posts to exist naturally within the ecosystem. AI optimizes distribution based on content context and audience affinity, not popularity metrics.

‍Discovery & Engagement
As the user scrolls, the feed adapts in real time—surfacing creators, sounds, and stories that align with the user’s mood and behavior. Engagement is designed to feel conversational and human, encouraging genuine interaction over passive consumption.

‍Creator Growth & Feedback
For creators, Espreez provides insight into how content resonates emotionally, not just numerically. AI highlights patterns in audience response, helping creators refine their voice without chasing virality.

‍Community Interaction
Users connect through comments, reactions, and shared sounds. AI moderation and relevance filtering ensure conversations remain respectful, culturally aware, and meaningful.

When users search using intent-based phrases (e.g., “calm African beats” or “late-night vibes”), AI interprets context and surfaces relevant creators and content, reducing noise and discovery fatigue.
